One of my favorite restaurants and dining experience at Disney World is Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village. Whenever we have family and friends in town we like taking them here. It’s African and Indian themed food overlooking the savanna. When you check in ask for a savanna view table. It’s considered a casual table service meal and I can usually find a reservation a week or so in advance. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner but I’ve only eaten there for dinner.
Typically we order the Bread Service and share with a table of four. If you have more in your group I suggest ordering a second service. With this you get five different types of bread/naan and 9 different sauces and can order additional pieces of bread a la carte. They arrange the sauces in order from least spicy to most spicy on a platter. I love three rom the less spicy side which include a mango chutney, tamarind chutney, and one other that I can’t remember. My kids even love this!
If you order the Bread Service I suggest sharing an entree with another guest. We usually get the Potjie with Butter Chicken and Paneer Tika. Butter Chicken is tender and served in chunks with a flavorful sauce that’s not spicy at all. The Paneer TIka is chunks of a cheese with another flavorful sauce. Basmati rice served on the side and I pour one of the sauces from the entree on it to eat every last bit of the sauce.
We’ve always been too full to order dessert but the assortment is authentic to the region so you can try something new.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant and dream of eating here often.
