Do you enjoy the antics of the skippers on the Jungle Cruise? Do you have a slightly adventurous palette? If you answered yes to any of these or just like to eat I highly recommend a visit to Skipper Canteen for either lunch or dinner.
It took me a couple of years to try this restaurant but after the first visit I was hooked. First off I recommend ordering the Brazilian Cheese ball appetizer. It’s not on the menu so always ask if they have it available. My picky eaters at home love this! It’s a breaded cheese ball served with a smear of cream cheese and chimichurri sauce. The combination sounds strange but trust me, it’s really good.

Last visit I ordered the “Hardy Har Char” Sui Pork served with seasonal vegetables and jasmine rice. The sauce has a bit of star anise in it so if you don’t like this flavor then I recommend not ordering this dish. Overall it was very flavorful although the meat was a little fatty. Other entrees include the whole fish, “tastes like chicken because it is”, steak, lamb, noodles, and more so plenty of entree choices for every taste.

This is one of the few restaurants inside Magic Kingdom that serve alcohol so if you need a cold beverage they have you covered. My youngest ordered the non-alcoholic Schweitzer Slush with frozen apple juice, passion fruit juice, and green apple Boba balls.

The dessert menu is small but enticing with panna cotta, rice pudding, chocolate cake and coconut bar.
Reservations could be hard to get for large parties but check for same-day cancellations if you are looking for a nice meal and a park break.
