I love this resort and recommend it to clients whenever I can!  Its located on Key Biscayne via a bridge from Miami and although it’s close to everything it seems like a world away. With 490 rooms this resort is large which means it has tons to offer guests but doesn’t feel like a mega-resort. Here are the dining and lounge options: Lobby Lounge Thursday – Saturday have live band Rumbar  Located inside the resort on the main level, it’s a Cuban rum bar and lounge […] Continue reading →

My husband and I recently spent a few days in St. Barts and stayed at Cheval Blanc – Isle de France.  This small resort is a modern seaside retreat decked out in white and driftwood with a touch of sophisticated elegance.  You are greeted by a staff of young french ladies in matching dresses with their hair in buns and handsome  young men with great tans. We stayed in room 22 which is a garden bungalow located across the “street” from the main hotel but tucked away in a […] Continue reading →

I recently met with our rep from Seabourn, an ultra-luxury cruise line, and am eyeing an Adriatic and Greek Isles cruise!  They also sail around the world including Antarctica and Patagonia, Arabia, Africa, and India, Caribbean, New England, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Panama Canal and Transatlantic. With 229 – 302 suites you know it won’t be a crowded ship and almost everything is included.  There are complimentary open bars, fine wines […] Continue reading →

Have you heard about Virtuoso and wondered what it’s all about?  The fearless leader, Matthew Upchurch, can be seen all over cable news these days singing its praises.  Here’s a bit more information on what it is and why it’s a great idea to use a Virtuoso advisor. What is Virtuoso?  Virtuoso is a network of the best travel advisors, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, and destination management companies in the world. What are the benefits? How would you like to get VIP […] Continue reading →

This past August I spent 5 days in the halls of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegaas, NV with 4000 other travel professionals learning about the latest and greatest travel trends and destinations for the upcoming year.  Sound like fun?  You bet! This was my 3rd visit to Virtuoso’s Travel Week and it’s an event I look forward to every year.  I’ve made many friends since joining the travel business so it’s like “old home week” seeing so many familiar faces. […] Continue reading →

If you’re looking for a unique luxury property located on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale, then look no further than the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. It was originally built in 2007 as St. Regis to mimic the design of a cruise ship since it’s located only 2 miles from the port of Ft. Lauderdale.  Because of it’s close proximity, the resort offers pre and post cruise packages for those who want to start their vacation early or extend it. The resort is located on the beach and […] Continue reading →

If you’re looking for a complete ocean front experience on Turks and Caicos then look no further than Grace Bay Club.  Your accommodations, pools, and all dining are ocean front.  Located on the island of Providenciales (Provo) on Grace Bay Beach, this resort is 5 star. There are 3 different accommodation areas, The Hotel, The Villas, and The Estate.  The Hotel is the original property built in 1993 with only 21 suites and the only adult-only section of the resort.  This area is 3 […] Continue reading →

Just 20 miles north of San Diego in between La Jolla and Del Mar is the Grand del Mar situated in a 4100 acre canyon preserve. This is a good “home-base” for families because within 20 minutes you are close to LEGOLAND, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and the San Diego Zoo. On property you can find a Tom Fazio designed golf course, equestrian center where you can take lessons and ride trails, tennis courts, and a spa with 11 treatment rooms. The beach is nearby and the hotel will provide […] Continue reading →

I was recently in the Tampa/St. Pete area and decided to travel the 1 ½ hours south to Sarasota to check out the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota and I’m glad I did.  The town of Sarasota is really quaint with a large round-about containing many shops and restaurants. Within walking distance is the Ritz-Carlton which is decorated in the “classic” Ritz style with large ornate chandeliers in the foyer and hallways but is currently receiving a modern update.  The main hotel restaurant is […] Continue reading →

I’ve never been to San Juan, Puerto Rico other than to transfer at the airport and since I was departing on a Celebrity cruise out of San Juan I decided to arrive a day earlier and spend a little time on the island. The Ritz-Carlton San Juan is a perfect destination for a pre or post-cruise stay. It is located mere steps from the airport and only 15 minutes from the port and is directly on the beach. There are 460 rooms which were renovated in November 2011 ranging from garden, city, and […] Continue reading →
